Well, I knew it was inevitable with my special history of pregnancy, but I am officially on bed rest now. On Monday I got a betemethazine shot to help develop the babies lungs early. The only side effect to this shot is that your blood sugar increases a lot. Well, the reason this is a problem is because I was already borderline with having gestational diabetes. So, I had to start testing my blood. Well on Monday night I tested it and it was way to high. I wanted to do a kick count for the baby because she hadn't been moving that well, but because my blood sugar was too high I couldn't have any juice to make the baby get moving into action.
So I called the hospital and they said to come in. Well, as soon as I went in I actually went into labor. I was in labor from 9:00pm until 6:45am. I know the exact time because that is when I finally fell asleep. After we were able to stop it I was dialated to a 3. Well, They made me stay there for the whole next day to watch the contractions and my blood sugar. Tuesday night I started contracting again, but we were able to stop it in an hour. There are more boring details, but to cut the story I am now home on bedrest with bathroom priviliges. "Privileges" thanks doc! I am just taking medication to help my blood sugar and the contractions for another week and a half and then he will just let the baby come if she decides its time. So... if you are bored I am home, lets hang out!

Good Luck with everything. I'm sorry you have to be on bedrest, that is not fun! Hopefully you can be done with this soon and the baby will be healthy.
That stinks you're on bedrest again Brit. You sound like you're pretty used to this whole drill though. At least you're so far along at this point if she comes early I'm sure she'll do great. Keep us posted, we can't wait to hear the news!
oh my goodness. i'm so sorry. that's so funny that they call going to the bathroom a privilege! i guess when you can't do anything else, it does seem exciting :) sorry i'm not there to come visit and entertain you. good luck with everything!
Oh Britt .... I LOVE YOU!!! Liv and I will be there tomorrow!!
Poor Girl! I just talked to Grandma and she told me the whole story. I am so sorry, that just sucks! Maybe I will bring Hailey over this week and we can let her and logan play to give you some reprieve. Call me if you need anything, though I may not be that much help because I am ready to pop as well. Love you.
Britt! I missed you the other night at cheesecake and was SO SAD that you were in the hospital. I am pretty much the worst friend in the world because I haven't even called you to see how you are. SORRY! Really, Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. I feel horrible. Wednesday we got official word that we will be moving to Denver in 2 1/2 weeks, so I have been preoccupied. I hope that you are feeling okay! Thanks so so so much for the DARLING "spring" basket! You are so creative. Take it easy on bed rest and I will check on you in a couple days :)
Yikes! Sounds exciting.... not really right?! If you need help with those blood sugars... give me a call. I'm a pro. ;)
I'm sorry that you are on bedrest again! Glad that everything is okay. Know that we love you!
Blah! I hope you have lots of movies. I'd visit but I'm more than just a few blocks away. Good luck!!!
Well, luckily you get those "priveleges" or you'd be using a bed pan, ha! I'd come visit you, but I have a ear/sinus/throat infection and my eardrum burst, and I sound like a chain smoker who can barely talk, blah blah blah. So, I'll be thinking of you and little baby instead. Love you guys, now get some rest! (no pun intended:)
Oh Britt....doesn't surprise me. I am so sorry. You poor thing! Please let me know if I can do anything for you! I want to bring you dinner one of these days.
Britt!!! I am so sorry you are stuck in bed, when can I come and bring you guys dinner??? Seriously, I am calling you tomorrow. Good thing you are soooooso close to your due date, consider it a "nice rest before life with two kids begins" rather than bed rest :-)...WEll I love ya, Can't wait to see the little sweetie!
I keep an eye on your front door during the day to make sure no emergency vehicles are present. At least you got bathroom and Bunco 'priveledges' so I'll see you tonight!
